The New England Patriots struck early in their Week 14 NFL contest against the Washington Redskins, and surprisingly it wasn't the Pats' offense that put points on the board. Instead. it was veteran defensive tackle Vince Wilfork, who recovered a fumbled by Washington quarterback Rex Grossman in the endzone just 2:43 seconds into the game.
Patriots defensive end Andre Carter forced the fumble by sacking and stripping Grossman, who dropped back to pass on a 3-and-9 from his own four-yard line. Wilfork was in the right place at the right time and jumped on the ball and helped New England take a 7-0 advantage.
Here's a video of the play:
The touchdown was Wilfork's second of the season. A few weeks back, Wilfork returned an interception for a touchdown against the Miami Dolphins on Monday Night Football.
