Week 11 NFL Scores And Results: Bills, Jets Back Up In AFC East

The Bills and Jets both lost in Week 11, giving the Patriots a golden opportunity to open up a big AFC East lead.

The New England Patriots are the only AFC East team yet to play their Week 11 game. And that might be a good thing, because the two teams the Pats are competing with for control of the division both lost.

The Buffalo Bills took the more frustrating loss, a 35-8 shellacking at the hands of the lowly Miami Dolphins in Buffalo. Matt Moore threw three touchdown passes in the Dolphins' third straight win, and the Bills dropped to 5-5 on the season with the loss. Miami is now 3-7 in 2011.

The New York Jets took their loss in the first game of Week 11. Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos back to a 17-13 win over the Jets in Denver on Thursday, and the loss moved the Jets to 5-5 on the year.

All that means that the Patriots are guaranteed to be in first place in the AFC East no matter what happens in their Monday night match-up with the Kansas City Chiefs. New England, 6-3 this year, could be one game ahead of the Bills and Jets at 6-4 with a loss, or two games clear of the division with a victory that improves its record to 7-3.
