Patriots' Julian Edelman Charged With Indecent Assault And Battery

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been arrested and will be arraigned on charges of indecent assault and battery at Boston Municipal Court on Tuesday morning after an incident early on Tuesday near a Back Bay nightclub.

New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman has been charged with indecent assault and battery, according to a report from The Boston Globe on Tuesday morning. Edelman is due in Boston Municipal Court today.

The charges are serious, as by definition, indecent assault is sexual in nature and defined as "any person who has indecent contact with another or takes indecent liberties with a person without his or her consent is guilty of indecent assault. It is a sex crime."

Edelman has played in four games for the Patriots and has three catches for 25 receiving yards and has returned nine punts for 105 yards and has nine kick returns for 214 yards. In his three-year career, Edelman has 47 catches for 470 receiving yards, 36 punt returns for 489 yards and 20 kick returns for 455 yards.
