Patriots Vs. Jets: Pats Announce Inactives

The Patriots list of inactive players for today’s AFC East battle with the New York Jets has been announced.

Quarterback Ryan Mallett
Linebacker Jerod Mayo
Wide receiver Julian Edelman
Running back Danny Woodhead
Offensive lineman Sebastian Vollmer
Defensive end Mike Wright
Free safety Josh Barrett

Noticeably absent from this list are defensive lineman Albert Haynesworth and tight end Aaron Hernandez.

Hernandez was expected to miss potentially six weeks after spraining his MCL during the teams Week 2 win over the San Diego Chargers, but has healed much faster than originally planned. He’s active, but how much he’ll play is still a question.

Likewise, Albert Haynesworth was not expected to play this week thanks to continuing back problems, but he is active and will be available to play in today’s game against the Jets. He’ll be needed today to combat the Jets running game along with fellow tackle Vince Wilfork. The Jets ground game has been difficult for the Pats to slow in the past few meetings
