Patriots Vs. Jets: TV Schedule, Time, Location, History And More

Tom Brady and the New England Patriots face Mark Sanchez and the New York Jets at the Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, MA on Sunday afternoon.

Event: New York Jets vs. New England Patriots - NFL Regular Season, Week 5.

Date/Time: Sunday, October 9, 2011 - 4:15 p.m. EDT.

Location: Gillette Stadium (Capacity: 68,756), Foxboro, MA.

Broadcast Info: Sunday's game between the Patriots and Jets will be aired on CBS (Channel 4), with Jim Nantz and Phil Simms calling all of the action. The game can also be seen on Channel 717 on DIRECTV.

In addition, the game can be heard on WBZ-FM 98.5 The Sports Hub, the flagship station of the Patriots. The lengendary duo of Gil Santos and Gino Cappelletti will serve as the broadcast team. The game can also be heard on SIRIUS Radio, Channel 86.

Last Week: Tom Brady and the Patriots got back on track last week in a win over the Oakland Raiders in California.  Wes Welker had his second straight stellar game, raking in 158 yards on just nine catches. The Pats defense also held up its end of the bargain for the first time this season in a 31-19 win.

The Jets have had similar defensive struggles this season, and they continued last week in a crushing 34-17 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.  Quarterback Mark Sanchez completed just 11/35 passes with no touchdowns and four critical turnovers.

Players To Watch: For the Patriots, the player to watch will be left tackle Matt Light.  The Patriots struggled badly to protect Tom Brady during the AFC Divisional Playoff loss to the Jets back in January, with Light being a prime culprit.  The Jets love to blitz from all angles and will test the Pats offensive line.

For the Jets, cornerback Darrelle Revis is likely to get the assignment on Wes Welker today.  Welker has been one the league's best receivers this season and will be a challenge for Revis, who is known more for his ability to cover the outside than in the slot.

Storyline: Since Rex Ryan became the coach of the Jets a few years ago, the Patriots/Jets rivalry has become one of the NFL's best.  The Patriots have continued to be the better team during the regular season, but the Jets have performed better in the post-season in each of the last two years, reaching the AFC Championship Game in both. Both teams have had their struggles this year, particularly on the defensive end, but expect to see both teams at their best this weekend with control of the AFC East on the line.

Prediction: Both teams have struggled to keep their opponents out of the end zone, but I'd expect both to be at their best today, which means a defensive game. The Jets have also had issues with turnovers this season, and it will be their undoing. Final Score: Patriots 24. Jets 17
