The New England Patriots had a bye this past week. They didn't drop but they were unable to jump up to the two spot because of the absolute blow out in New Orleans on Sunday night. The AFC East is pretty tight with the Buffalo Bills and New York Jets both with records over .500. The Pats have a tough upcoming schedule with games against the Steelers, Giants, Jets, Chiefs, and Eagles before a gimme against the Indianapolis Colts who have been lost without Peyton Manning at the helm.
The Bills are also up this week because of the Buccaneers loss in England sitting at the 9 slot, proving that you don't need to play to have movement in the power rankings. The Jets were the big mover in the AFC East because of the massive comeback win against the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. The Miami Dolphins continue to flounder and stay at the 32 spot after blowing a win against the Denver Broncos in Overtime.
