Well, so much for Brandon Lloyd in a New England Patriots uniform. The rumor mill was churning in full force on Monday morning, and the Patriots were reportedly one of the teams interested in the Denver Broncos wide receiver. Guess again.
Lloyd has reportedly been traded to the St. Louis Rams, according to Jason LaCanfora.
It was widely reported last week the Broncos were open to dealing Lloyd and shopped around ahead of Tuesday's trade deadline. The Rams, San Francisco 49ers and New England Patriots were all known to be in discussions with the Broncos, sources told The Denver Post. (via NFL.com)
Lloyd has 4,101 receiving yards and 26 touchdowns in 101 games. Last season, Lloyd finally broke onto the scene with a career season, racking up 1,448 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in 16 games with the Broncos. However, this season, Lloyd has regressed again, totaling only 283 yards and zero touchdowns in four games.
