Wes Welker continued his brilliant season for the Patriots vs. the Jets on Sunday and now Welker has a place in the record books to show for his production. Welker has the most receiving yards ever through five games.
On Sunday, he had five receptions for 124 yards despite spending most of the night with Jets all-world cornerback Darrelle Revis covering him. That pushed Welker's season stats to a ridiculous 45 catches for 740 yards.

Only T.J. Houshmandzadeh’s 47 receptions in 2007 with Cincinnati ranks better through five games. Welker’s 740 yards surpassed the record held by Charley Hennigan of the 1961 Houston Oilers (704).
