Wilfork's hit was deemed helmet-to-helmet and drew a 15-yard penalty at the time. Wilfork has been one of many players fined this season as a part of the NFL's new stance on helmet-to-helmet hits. Wilfork was not a repeat offender, however, so no suspension was handed down.

Wilfork joins a list of players, which includes teammate Brandon MeriweatherPittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison, and Atlanta Falcons cornerback Dunta Robinson, as players who have been disciplined by the NFL because of a helmet-to-helmet hits.
