It seems like not a week goes by where a Patriot isn't at least nominated for an award. This week is no different, as Tom Brady has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Month for his dominant December.
↵Leading the Patriots to a 4-0 record in the month, Brady started December off with a four touchdown performance against the New York Jets before taking down two more playoff teams in Chicago and Green Bay. He collected nearly 1000 yards and 11 touchdowns as the Patriots averaged 36.5 points per game against some of the league's best defenses. Of course, it goes without saying that he didn't record an interception, as he broke Bernie Kosar's record for consecutive passes without a pick.
↵Even with a couple of less prolific games against Green Bay and Buffalo (managing only a 110.2 and 107.0 passer rating, respectively), Brady put a fine finish on his season, which could very well earn him his second NFL MVP award.
↵But, hey, Rex Ryan says Peyton Manning (six interceptions in December) studies more, so eat it Tom.
