Somewhat lost in the news that Tom Brady not only played the 2010 season with a stress fracture but also will undergo surgery for the injury, possibly as early as Thursday, was Wednesday night's report that the quarterback will skip the 2011 Pro Bowl (makes sense).â†µ
His replacement in Hawaii became official on Thursday: it's the Chiefs' Matt Cassel.â†µ
So Cassel is replacing Brady because of an injury, again. And Cassel will have a few familiar faces on the sidelines: per the new NFL rules introduced when they moved the Pro Bowl to the week prior to the Super Bowl, it's now the staff of the divisional round loser with the best record that coaches the Pro Bowl.â†µ
Once again, Matt Cassel replaces Tom Brady -- this time for the Pro Bowl. Once again, Cassel's coach will be Bill Belichick.â†µ
