Dolphins vs. Patriots: Julian Edelman Returns! Brings Punt Back 94 Yards For Touchdown

Julian Edelman seems to play much better when Wes Welker is nowhere to be found. His 40-yard reception earlier was already the offensive highlight of the game. Now, with a 94-yard punt return, Edelman has a broken record in his pocket too.

With 38 seconds to go in the half, Julian Edelman received the punt at the Patriots’ 6-yard line. He was met immediately by a defender, stumbled backwards, and then shook off the tackle and took off. Kyle Arrington and Darius Butler took out the nearest man, and Edelman found the seam in the Dolphins’ coverage, taking the ball to the house.

It’s been a disappointing season for Julian Edelman after what looked like a breakout game in Week 17 last year. With only four receptions on the season and a relatively quiet return game, it’s nice to see the seventh-round pick getting some big yards and highlight plays.
