Laurence Maroney's season went from bad worse to worser: late Monday night, the running back was arrested.
According to KMOV-TV in St. Louis, Maroney, 25, is "being held on unlawful weapons charges and drug charges." He was apparently one of four men in a car that was pulled over by police (Maroney is originally from St. Louis).

The Patriots drafted Maroney out if Minnesota with 21st overall pick in the 2006 NFL Draft. He spent four disappointing seasons in New England (never surpassing 835 yards rushing) before they traded him to the Denver Broncos after Week 1 of the 2010 season. Maroney played just four games for the Broncos, totaling 74 yards on 36 carries.
