While Roger Goodell and Bill Belichick may not have enjoyed the week-long war-of-words between the New York Jets and New England Patriots leading up to their AFC Divisional clash, executives at CBS are no doubt pleased.
↵Sunday's game between the Jets and Pats drew 43.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched Divisional Round game in the NFL's history, according to the NFL PR guy. The ratings surpassed a 1997 game between the Dallas Cowboys and Carolina Panthers (42.7 million) and a Kansas City Chiefs-Houston Oilers game from 1994 (41.1 million).
↵The Jets, after upsetting the Pats on Sunday, travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2011 AFC Championship Game Jan. 23.
