Monday Night Football, Jets Vs. Patriots: OK, So The Offense Is A Little Stoppable

A questionable spot and a stuffed run play hurt the Patriots, resulting in the first scoreless drive of the night.

But when that happens, the Pats can still rely on Zoltan Mesko. A booming punt and a block-in-the-back pinned the Jets around their 10 yard line. They didn’t move any further thanks to some great defense by Jermaine Cunningham, Jarrad Page, and Pat Chung (who was specifically called out by ESPN pre-game for not being able to cover receivers).

And then Jets punter Steve Weatherford couldn’t even boot it 40 after a big favorable bounce. I know it’s windy out, but geeze.

Patriots still lead 24-3, but this time with great field position.
