Monday Night Football, Jets Vs. Patriots: Mistake Stalls Drive, But Patriots Strike First

The Patriots have their first three points of the game, though they might have left four on the board.

A strong opening drive, highlighted by a 12-yard run from BenJarvus Green-Ellis and a 23-yard reception from Deion Branch stalled at the Jets’ 23 yard line when a first down play was ruined by miscommunication, leaving Brady no choice but to launch one out of bounds. Two incompletions later, and the Pats were forced to kick it.

A pretty impressive job on that, though, by Shayne Graham, who booted one right down the middle from 41 yards into strong winds that hooked it hard to the left at the end.

Pats are up 3-0. It’s Mark Sanchez and the Jets’ turn.
