Jaron Spear, Nick Theriault Lead Beverly Past Somerset 28-20

Jaron Spear (9 carries, 148 yards) bolted for a 59-yard touchdown with 3:54 elapsed in the first quarter and Nick Theriault (12 carries, 139 yards) rushed for a 74-yard score four minutes into the third quarter as Beverly edged Somerset 28-20 to claim the Division II Super Bowl crown on Saturday morning at Gillette Stadium.

After Spears' initial score, Seth DeMello (17 carries, 70 yards) scored on a one-yard run to put Beverly up 14-0.

Brendan Flaherty (four catches, 44 yards; 13 carries, 54 yards) caught two touchdown passes in the win for Beverly, which finished the 2010 campaign at 7-6 after losings its first five games. Somerset finished the season at 12-1 after entering Saturday's game undefeated.
