Brad Childress Fired Three Weeks After Losing To Patriots

On Halloween, the Patriots defeated Randy Moss and the Minnesota Vikings, 28-18. After the game, Moss reportedly told Vikings owner told Vikings owner Zygi Wilf that head coach Brad Childress should be fired. Childress responded by releasing the wide receiver the next day. Three weeks later, Moss is gone and with the Titans, but he eventually got his wish -- the Vikings have fired Brad Childress as head coach, replacing him with Leslie Frazier on an interim basis.

Childress took over Minnesota in 2006 and went 39-25 in his time there, including just 3-7 this season. The Vikings finished first in the NFC North in both 2008 and 2009, losing to the New Orleans Saints in the NFC Championship Game last season.

Childress went 0-2 against the Patriots, including this season's Week 8 loss. Their only other meeting came in 2006, when New England won in Minnesota, 31-7, led by Tom Brady's four touchdowns.
