Patriots vs. Colts: New England Takes 17-Point Lead, CBS Brings Up Bad Memories

So the score is 31-14. In the fourth quarter. Against the Colts.

As CBS is so quick to remind everyone listening, that’s pretty much exactly how it was last year before the Patriots coughed up said lead, failed to convert 4th-and-2, and lost the game in traumatic fashion.

The points came after Peyton Manning’s second interception gave the Patriots good field position, letting some more short gains bring New England into the red zone. They couldn’t convert, though, and had to settle for a field goal.

If CBS’ ominous reminders weren’t enough, the Colts are now on the 12-yard line after the Patriots allowed a very long run. Not much time is running off the clock, either.
