Branch bounced off a tackle to turn a short gain on 2nd-and-10 into a 21-yard sprint down the sidelines, and a near-interception turned into 32 yards as Brandon Tate played Hot Potato with the ball for about three seconds before reeling it in as the Vikings converged.
A direct snap to Danny Woodead, which had worked on an earlier drive before Alge Crumpler’s illegal motion called it back sealed the deal, got the Patriots into the end zone to tie the game at 7-all.
