It certainly was not pretty. The Patriots managed just 179 yards of offense, and only 15 first down. But they also didn't turn the ball over once, while the Chargers had four turnovers in the first half. And in the end, that was the difference as New England held on for a 23-20 win, secured when Kris Brown's field goal clanked off the right upright from 50-yards out with 23 seconds left on the clock.
With the win, the Patriots improved to 5-1, keeping pace with the Jets and Steelers.
