The Boston University Terriers and the Northeastern Huskies will open their 2012-13 seasons on Friday night at the Matthews Arena in Boston. This is the third year in a row in which the rivals will square off in a season opener. Northeastern has won the last two, in addition to six of the last eight matchups. Friday marks the 140th all-time meeting between these two squads, with BU holding a slight 71-68 lead in the series.
Northeastern will look to improve on its 14-17 record last season, as the team returns all of its top scorers and rebounders from last year. BU will look different this season, as the Terriers return just seven players from last year's 16-16 squad. Still, Friday's action promises to be exciting. In their last meeting, Northeastern won in an overtime showdown.
Tip-off is at 7 p.m., and fans can check out a live stream of the game here.
