Boston College Vs. Minnesota, 2012 Frozen Four Scores: Boston College leads 1-0 after the 1st Period

Boston leads Minnesota 1-0 after Eagles Forward Steven Whitney scored on a give-and-go from Senior Forward Barry Almeida with 13:50 remaining in the first period. Boston had scored first in 19 of their last 20 games and proceeded to add another game to that streak.

Boston dominated the puck throughout most of the first period. The Eagles goaltender Parker Milner withstood a flurry of shots at the end of the first period to maintain the Eagles shutout. The Golden Gophers pressured the goalie with only one official shot on goal. The Eagles had two shots on goal in the first period.

Boston College has won the NCAA tournament four times and are playing against a Minnesota team with five championships to their own credit. The Eagles are hot after reeling of 17 straight wins and shutting out Air Force 2-0 and UMD Bulldogs 4-0.
