Beanpot 2012: Boston University Leads Harvard, 3-1, After Second

BOSTON - Wade Megan scored twice in the middle period as the Boston University Terriers took a 3-1 lead over the Harvard Crimson through 40 minutes in the semifinal round of the 2012 Beanpot Tournament here at TD Garden.

Megan's first strike, a power play goal, came at 7:30 of the period, assisted by Sean Escobedo (8) and Sahir Gill (12). Megan's second goal, his 14th of the season, came at 14:02 of the period, assisted by Gill (13) to give BU a 3-0 lead.

Harvard's Alex Killorn put his team on the board with a power play goal, his 15th of the season, at 15:27, trimming the Crimson deficit to two goals. That lead would hold through the end of the period.

Kieran Millan had 10 saves in the period and is up to 19 for the game. Steve Michalek had six saves in the second period and has 14 for the game, but was pulled in favo of Raphael Girard, who recorded two stops in the period.

Harvard has 20 shots on goal through two periods while Boston University has 19.
