Boston College Takes Top Spot In National College Hockey Polls; BU Fourth

With just a week left in the college hockey regular season, Boston College has reclaimed the #1 spot in the national polls.

BC's weekend sweep of Providence College helped them knock previous #1 Ferris State from the top of the USCHO and USA Today polls. Ferris State tied and lost to Western Michigan in a weekend series, which left them vulnerable to losing the top spot. The Eagles have a good chance of hanging onto that spot after this upcoming weekend, since they face Hockey East's last place team, the University of Vermont.

Boston University is only three spots behind Boston College, moving up to fourth place this week. The Terriers bounced back from a shaky early February to sweep Vermont last weekend. This weekend, they face a Northeastern team fighting for their playoff lives.

Other Hockey East teams in the top fifteen include UMass Lowell at eighth place after a loss and tie against Merrimack; Maine, holding steady in the tenth slot in the USCHO poll and eleventh in the USA Today poll; and inconsistent Merrimack is in twelfth.
