Beanpot 2012, Northeastern Vs. Harvard: Crimson Up 1-0 After First

BOSTON - Alex Killorn's goal in the first period was the lone goal for either team in the opening period as the Harvard Crimson took a 1-0 lead over the Northeastern Huskies heading into the first intermission of the consolation game of the 2012 Beanpot tournament on Monday night at TD Garden.

Killorn's strike was an even-strength goal and came at 11:44 of the period. It was Killorn's team-leading 16th goal of the season and was assisted by Tommy O'Regan (3) and Ryan Grimshaw (6). Prior to the goal, the Crimson had several strong opportunities, both of which resulted in near misses that clanged off the Northeastern post.

Steve Michalek stopped all six shots he faced in the period for Harvard while Clay Witt had 11 saves on 12 shots in the first 20 minutes for Northeastern. The Crimson doubled up the Huskies in shots, 12-6.
