Beanpot 2012: Boston College, Boston University Highlight Final Day

One down, one to go. Boston College and Boston University did their parts, winning in the semifinal round of the 2012 Beanpot on Monday, February 6 at TD Garden to set up another date in the championship game at 7:30 p.m. EDT on Monday evening (NESN).

BC and BU have met 258 times in their storied histories, with the Terriers holding a 127-113-17 advantage. Under head coach Jerry York, the Eagles have fared a little beter, compiling a 34-38-6 record. Monday's game between the Eagles and Terriers marks the 41st time the two teams in the Beanpot. BU has a 27-13 record against BC in the tournament.

The Eagles are riding a hot-streak against the Terriers in the Beanpot, having won three consecutive meetings. In the championship game of the tournament, BU holds a 12-8 advantage, but the Eagles' senior class is 2-0 against the Terriers in the Beanpot. Overall, the Eagles have a 70-49 record in the Beanpot while the Terriers have an 85-34 record.

Meanwhile, the Harvard Crimson and Northeastern Huskies will do battle in the consolation game with third place on the line. The Crimson are 49-70 all-time in the Beanpot while the Huskies are 34-85. Harvard and Northeastern bost lost their semifinal games against Boston University and Boston College, respectively. Puck drop is at 4:30 p.m. EDT (NESN).
