It's a relatively quiet night in the Boston college hockey circuit the day after Thanksgiving, as No. 1 Boston College and No. 10 Boston University are both off Friday before games on Saturday a week before the two squads square off against each other. There are no Hockey East matchups, but there are some non-conference affairs featuring Boston-area teams:
No. 3 New Hampshire at Colorado College, 9:35 p.m.: The third-ranked Wildcats are essentially playing a non-conference tuneup Friday night as they prep for their real test this weekend, the No. 2 Denver Pioneers, who they play Saturday in one of the biggest games of the year thus far. New Hampshire has only lost once this year, having won four straight by a combined score of 14-1 since dropping a game to UMass.
St. Lawrence vs. Northeastern 7 p.m.: The 4-6-1 Huskies host St. Lawrence in hopes of getting back on track. Although they're 2-0 in non-conference play, they've dropped every non-conference game since a shocking win over No.1 Boston College.
Colgate vs. Merrimack, 4 p.m., Fox College Sports: The Warriors play a televised game against Colgate, who have won back-to-back games against ranked teams in No. 11 Dartmouth and No. 19 Harvard. Merrimack has dropped three straight after starting Hockey East play 3-1-1.
