The Springfield Falcons of the American Hockey League currently have locked-out NHL players Cam Atkinson and Ryan Johansen on their roster, and they'll host the St. John's IceCaps on Saturday night.
Atkinson, a right winger and Greenwich, Conn. native, and Johansen, a center, are also currently teammates on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Last season, the Blue Jackets finished 29-46 with seven overtime losses and 65 total points, ending up last in the Western Conference's Central division.
The NHL currently has its players locked out as the sides attempt to negotiate a new collective bargaining agreement. To this point, neither side has submitted a formal proposal since the lockout officially took effect on Sept. 15.
Regular season play through the month of October has already been cancelled as the sides struggle to make progress in negotiations.
The Falcons and IceCaps will begin at 7 p.m. ET at the MassMutual Center on Saturday night. The full AHL schedule can be viewed here.
