Boston College (8-2-0) has slipped to No. 2 in this week's USCHO Division I Men's Hockey Poll after an up-and-down weekend that saw it defeat Hockey East rival Maine, 5-1, on Friday night but lost to fellow conference foe UMass-Amherst, 4-2, in an upset loss on Saturday night.
Minnesota (9-1-0) took over as the No. 1 team in the nation, collecting 956 points and 32 first-place votes in this week's poll after being ranked No. 5 last week. Boston College had 940 total points in the poll and 15 first-place votes.
Merrimack (7-0-1) received two first-place votes and 801 total points to move up one spot to No. 6 in this week's poll. Boston University (3-3-1) fell from No. 12 to No. 16 this week with 207 points. Other teams from Hockey East that were unranked but received votes are New Hampshire (16), Maine (14), Providence (8) and UMass-Lowell (4).
