It's the middle of July which means a handful of things: the weather is oppressively hot, the smell of barbecue is in the air, and college football is getting very close once again.

It also means that college football award watch lists are being released and on Monday morning, the Bednarik Award and Maxwell Award lists came out. For those who don't know or need a quick refresher course, the Bednarik is given to the nation's top defensive player while the Maxwell is given to the top college player overall.

The UConn Huskies have a player to keep an eye on according to the lists. Defensive end Trevardo Williams made the Bednarik watch, drawing some attention as perhaps one of the best in the land. Williams is a mountain of a man and easily the most highly regarded member of the Huskies team.

Unquestionably, WIlliams is a star and someone to keep a close eye on come the fall.
