UConn Football Spring Game Preview: Huskies Still Looking For Quarterback

The Connecticut Huskies face a familiar problem heading into the annual spring game: Will one of their quarterbacks step up and prove himself as a leader?

The Connecticut Huskies football team enters Saturday's Blue-White spring game facing one major question that could determine whether they bounce back from a disappointing 2011 campaign:

Who's the starting quarterback?

Johnny McEntee, last year's starter, seems to have the inside track on the job because of his experience, but it was McEntee's uneven play which contributed to UConn's sub-standard offense last season. The other candidates include sophomore Chandler Whitmer, a highly-touted junior college transfer, and freshman Casey Cochran, a two-time Gatorade Connecticut High School Football Player of the Year.

Game Time: 1 p.m. ET, Saturday, April 21

Location: Rentschler Field

Ticket Information: Admission is free to the general public, with parking lots opening at 10 a.m. and gates opening at 11:30 a.m.

Extras: FanFest will provide fans with inflatable games, music, food and fun inside Gate E from 11:30 a.m. through halftime. Players and coaches will hold a post-game autograph session.
