Women's 2012 NCAA Tournament, UConn Vs. Kentucky, Halftime Score: Huskies Lead, 41-39

The UConn Huskies lead the Kentucky Wildcats, 41-39, at halftime in the Elite Eight of the 2012 Women's NCAA Tournament from the Ryan Center in Providence, Rhode Island.

UConn started strong and built a quick 11-3 over the first four minutes of the game. Just eight minutes into the half, UConn led, 19-10. The Wildcats went on a run and were able to erase the deficit and take the lead while UConn's Bria Hartley sat on the bench with two fouls. Foul trouble by UConn ultimately sent Kentucky to the line for 14 attempts in the first half and the Wildcats made every shot at the charity stripe while only shooting 36.7% from the floor.

Leading at halftime did not look to be a certainty for Uconn with five minutes to play in the half. The Wildcats had an answer for every UConn basket. Kentucky was able to tie the game at 39-39 when Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis fouled A'dia Mathies. Mathies made both free throws. Then, UConn threw a deep inbounds pass to Kelly Faris who caught it, raced down the floor and made a layup to take the lead into the halftime in just 2.1 seconds.

UConn was led by 11 points by Tiffany Hayes and Stefanie Dolson. Kentucky was paced by 11 points by Bria Goss.
