UConn Vs. Marquette Recap: Huskies Continue Losing Ways

The Connecticut Huskies fell to 16-10 overall and 6-8 in the Big East on Saturday with a 15 point loss to the 13th ranked Marquette Golden Eagles. UConn has now lost seven of their last nine games, including 0-4 against ranked teams. They continue to fall in the Big East standings, where the reside in 10th place.

The Huskies had four players in score in double figures – Jeremy Lamb, Ryan Boatright, Shabazz Napier and Alex Oriakhi – but both of the game's high scorers came from the Golden Eagles. Jae Crowder and Darius Johnson-Odom combined to score 53 of Marquette's 79 points, and only needed 32 shots to do so. They added eight of the Golden Eagles 10 three pointers and 13 of their 21 free throws.

The Huskies have four games left on the schedule, including a big match-up with the second-ranked Syracuse Orange on February 25. The Huskies desperately need a statement win.
