UConn Vs. West Virginia: Huskies Desperate For Win After Two-Game Skid

After a tough week, the Connecticut Huskies host the West Virginia Mountaineers in a Big East Conference match up at the XL Center (7 p.m. on ESPN2).

It was a long week for Connecticut Huskies men's basketball fans, and a victory Monday against West Virginia Mountaineers, who visit the XL Center for a Big East Conference match up, would brighten the mood a bit in Storrs, CT. The Huskies (12-3, 2-2 Big East) lost two game to inferior programs -- Seton Hall Pirates and Rutgers Scarlet Knights, respectively -- last week and a victory against a quality opponent such as the Mountaineers (12-4, 3-1) would quickly turn things around.

UConn is looking to avoid its first three-game skid since 2010. On Saturday, head coach Jim Calhoun returned to the sidelines after serving a three-game suspension for failing to create an atmosphere of compliance within the program.

Currently, sophomore guard Jeremy Lamb is pacing the Huskies in scoring with 18.2 points per game, while sophomore guard Shabazz Napier is averaging 14.7 ppg and 6.2 assists per game.

Meanwhile, WVU looks toward senior forward Kevin Jones to make plays. Jones is currently the leading scorer (19.8 ppg) and rebounder (11.9 per game) in the Big East. Another weapon the Mountaineers feature is senior guard Darryl Bryant, who's netting 18.4 ppg.
