Kemba Walker led all scorers with 18 points and had seven assists and six rebounds as No. 3 seed Connecticut defeated Kentucky, 56-55, in the 2011 Final Four at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas on Saturday night.
UConn will face Butler, which topped VCU in the first game of the Final Four, in the NCAA title game on Monday.
The Huskies built a ten-point lead, 31-21, by halftime. Kentucky outscored UConn in the second half, 34-25, but fell out of contention in the final minute after a questionable foul and poor shot selection.
Jeremy Lamb finished with 12 points and eight rebounds off the bench for Connecticut, which shot 46.9 percent as a team. Alex Oriakhi had eight points and Roscoe Smith added six points for the Huskies.
Brandon Knight led the Wildcats with 17 points and eight rebounds. Doron Lamb had 13 points and Terrence Jones added 11 points for Kentucky, which shot a lowly 33.9 percent.
