Kemba Walker scored 20 points and Jeremy Lamb had 19 points as the No. 3 seeded Connecticut Huskies edged the No. 5 seeded Arizona Wildcats, 65-63, in the Elite Eight round of the 2011 NCAA Tournament on Saturday night in Anaheim, CA.
The Huskies grabbed a 32-25 lead at halftime, but were outscored by 38-33 in the second half. UConn made 23-of-56 field goals (41.1 percent) and 5-of-17 three pointers while holding Arizona to 39.3 shooting from the field (24-for-61) and 4-of-21 shooting from three-point range (19 percent).
Shabazz Napier finished with 10 points and Alex Oriakhi added seven points and six rebounds for Connecticut.
Derrick Williams had 20 points and had five rebounds and Jesse Perry totaled 14 points and seven points for the Wildcats. Kyle Fogg added 11 points and Lamont Jones finished with eight points for Arizona.
Connecticut finished with 28 rebounds, 10 assists, six blocks, five steals and five turnovers while Arizona totaled 39 rebounds, 14 assists, three steals, one block and nine turnovers in the losing effort.
