Harvard is off to a dream 8-0 start this season, but the Crimson face their biggest challenge of the young season on Thursday when they put their AP Top 25 spot and undefeated record on the line vs. No. 9 UConn. Odd as it sounds, this is the marquee matchup in New England basketball this season.
Last season, the Huskies beat down Harvard 81-52. But a year later, a repeat of that outcome seems unlikely.
This could have been a rematch of the final at Battle 4 Atlantis, a tournament in which both teams participated, but while Harvard shocked Florida State, UConn was upset by Central Florida, its lone loss of the season.
"Our plan was to play UConn down there, but no one expected them to lose to Central Florida,'' Harvard's Keith Wright told ESPN's Andy Katz. "Our focus was to go down there and win it. It will be nice to go up against those guys. It should have been the championship game.''
Game Time: 7:00 p.m. ET, Thursday, Dec. 8.
Location: Gampel Pavilion, Storrs, Conn.
TV Schedule: ESPN
