Several Boston area college basketball teams are in action this weekend.
The No. 9 Connecticut Huskies (11-1) will continue Big East play this Saturday when they host the St. John's Red Storm (7-5) at 12 p.m. Last time out, the Huskies outlasted South Florida, 60-57, in Tampa. Jeremy Lamb led the way for UConn with 23 points.
St. John's destroyed Providence in their first Big East game, 91-67, on Tuesday. Maurice Harkless set a Big East freshman record with 32 points in his first Big East game.
UConn enters the game third in the Big East in rebound margin (+6.4), second in blocked shots (6.9) and first in field goal percentage (49.4%) and field goal defense (36%). The Red Storm rank near the bottom of the conference in most categories except for steals, which they rank 6th (8.2).
