UConn Vs. South Florida Final Score: Huskies Hang On For 60-57 Win

On the first night of a three-game stretch without head coach Jim Calhoun, suspended for recruiting violations, UConn had to fight their way to a narrow 60-57 victory over the South Florida Bulls. This never quite came to the level of a scare they got back around Thanksgiving when they needed overtime to beat Florida State by a point or a loss to Central Florida the week before that. What is it about Florida?

Jeremy Lamb led the way with 23 points, five rebounds and one assist. Lamb's fellow top pick in the NBA Draft and teammate, Andre Drummond, had seven rebounds and four points.

SB Nation had the Huskies ranked eighth in its power rankings this week.

UConn plays their next game on Dec. 31, against St. John's Red Storm. After beating Harvard on Dec. 8, they will not face an opponent that is currently ranked until Feb. 1, 2012, when they play at Georgetown.
