In the second upset result of the day (UConn fell to UCF earlier) in the Battle 4 Atlantis tournament in the Bahamas, Harvard defeated No. 20 Florida State 46-41. The halftime score in the game was 14-14. The offenses did not pick up much in the second half.
Harvard started off the game on a 7-0 run. Florida State did not score their first points of the game until there was 8:49 left to play in the first half. Harvard's Christian Webster hit a three-pointer at the end of the half to achieve the 14-14 tie. The Crimson controlled the game in the second half but couldn't build a commanding lead. Neither team shot the ball well from the floor. Florida State shot 36.2% while the Crimson only shot 27.3%. Harvard was 17-24 from the free throw line, which made the difference down the stretch.
Florida State's Michael Snaer was the only player in double figures with 10 points. Harvard was led by Oliver McNally's 9 point, 6 rebound and 3 assist performance.
With the win, the Crimson move to 5-0 on the young season. They will play the UCF Knights in the title game of the Battle 4 Atlantis on Saturday.
