What better way to enjoy college basketball than playing it in The Bahamas? UConn, UMass and Harvard will all take part in the inaugural Battle 4 Atlantis, an eight-team preseason tournament played on Paradise Island that tips off on Thanksgiving Day.
UMass (4-0) is the first local team to tip off, as the Minutemen take on the Florida St. Seminoles (4-0) at 4:30 p.m. EDT. Massachusetts is coming off an 82-46 win over the Boston College Eagles on Monday night. Chaz Williams, who is averaging 17.3 points per game, led the Minutemen with 16 points in the Commonwealth Cup clinching win.
No. 4 UConn (4-0) is the next team to play, with the Huskies battling UNC Ashville (2-2) at 7 p.m. The Huskies are fresh off an 87-70 thrashing of the Coppin State Eagles. Jeremy Lamb led UConn with 25 points in the win and Shabazz Napier had a monster game, finishing with a triple-double (22 points, 13 assists, 12 rebounds).
Finally, the Crimson (3-0) will take on the Utah Utes (1-2) at 9:30 p.m. Laurent Rivard scored 20 points and had four rebounds in Harvard's 77-67 victory over Loyola Mary on November 19. Oliver McNally scored 16 points, Keith Wright had 15 points and Kyle Casey finished with 14 points for the Crimson.
