Boston sports TV listings, Dec. 14: Celtics head to Houston to face Harden, Rockets

Here's the Friday television schedule for the Boston-area and national sports scene. All times below are listed as Eastern.

National Basketball Association

Boston Celtics at Houston Rockets, 8 p.m. on ESPN (Radio: WEEI 850 AM and 93.7 FM).

The Celtics will put their two-game winning streak up against James Harden, Jeremy Lin and the Houston Rockets in the first of ESPN's Friday night doubleheader. Houston had lost three straight before getting by the Washington Wizards, 99-93, on Wednesday to snap the skid. The Rockets rank third in the league in points per game, averaging 104.2 a night, but their points allowed defense is the NBA's worst, as they surrender 104.8 points per contest.

This will be the first of a three-game road trip for Boston, as they will make stops in San Antonio to face the Spurs on Saturday and Chicago on Tuesday, Dec. 18, to meet the Bulls.

The second game in ESPN's back-to-back schedule features the Memphis Grizzlies at the Denver Nuggets, scheduled to start at 10:30 p.m.

College Football

The NCAA Division III national championship kicks off at 7 p.m. on ESPNU, as Saint Thomas takes on Mount Union. Also, North Dakota State hosts Georgia Southern in a FCS semifinal showdown. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. and can be seen on ESPN2.

College Hockey

The CBS Sports Network will be airing Western Michigan at Michigan, in a contest scheduled to get underway at 7:35 p.m.
