Rajon Rondo believes he has NFL talent

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo thinks he could have played in the NFL.

Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo said he believes he could have made it in the NFL had he decided to give it a shot instead of playing in the NBA. Rondo said, "I don't take what those guys do lightly, but I think I could have played."

Rondo played quarterback before giving up football to focus on basketball in high school at Eastern High in Louisville, Ky. and at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va. Rondo said that once he got into Kentucky he didn't think about football anymore, he said he was "one-track minded, which was basketball and getting to the league."

Rondo's brother Will briefly played football at Murray State, but didn't have a long college football career. Rondo is 6'1 and 186 pounds, a bit on the small side for most NFL quarterbacks, but certainly not the smallest.

Still, basketball was probably the best choice for Rondo, as he currently leads the NBA with 12.8 assists per game.
