The Boston Celtics fell to 0-2 with a 99-88 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks on Friday night. The Celtics didn't have a lead after the first quarter, and trailed by at least 11 for the entire second half.
This was the second consecutive disappointing defensive performance for Boston, who surrendered 120 to Miami on Tuesday. Last year the C's had one of the league's top defenses, allowing just 89.3 points per game.
Kevin Garnett led the team in scoring with 15, and Rajon Rondo managed 14 points. They were both outdone by Milwaukee's Brandon Jennings, who had 21 points and 13 assists.
Around the Eastern Conference, the New York Knicks knocked off the Miami Heat, 104-84. Carmelo Anthony led the way with 30 points and 10 rebounds. New York drained 19 three-pointers, shooting 53 percent from beyond the arc.
The Chicago Bulls moved to 2-0 after defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers, 115-86. Nate Robinson led the Bulls with 16 points and 12 assists.
