Boston Celtics point guard Rajon Rondo is among the top 10 in the NBA's best-selling jerseys, based on sales data from the NBA Store in New York and online. Rondo comes in at No. 6 on the list, while Miami Heat star and MVP LeBron James claims the top spot. The data includes sales from the end of April through this past Thanksgiving weekend, a period that saw James claim his first NBA title and undoubtedly boosted his appeal and shot him to the top of the list for the third time in his career.
In that period, Rondo also emerged as a new face of the Celtics, going right at James and his cohorts in the Eastern Conference Finals. Derrick Rose is the only other point guard ahead of Rondo on the list, an impressive number for the mercurial and sometimes reticent Celtic. He is joined by Paul Pierce on the top 15 list, with the Celtics legend coming in at No. 14 overall. Here's the top 10, via Tom Rotunno of CNBC:
- LeBron James, Miami Heat
- Kevin Durant, Oklahoma City Thunder
- Kobe Bryant, Los Angeles Lakers
- Carmelo Anthony, New York Knicks
- Derrick Rose, Chicago Bulls
- Rajon Rondo, Boston Celtics
- Dwyane Wade, Miami Heat
- Blake Griffin, Los Angeles Clippers
- Dwight Howard, Los Angeles Lakers
- Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers
The Celtics are also No. 5 on the list for overall team merchandise sold, bested only by the Knicks, Heat, Lakers, and Bulls.
