2012 NBA schedule: Celtics play two over the weekend

The Celtics hope to get back to their winning ways against the Thunder and Magic this weekend.

The Boston Celtics are back in action this weekend, taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder at home on Friday before hitting the road to face the Orlando Magic on Sunday.

The 6-6 Celtics have lost two straight games, most recently a 112-100 defeat at the hands of the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday. Prior to that, the Celtics were waxed on the road by the lowly Detroit Pistons, 103-83.

Boston will have to pull out a win over the 9-3 Thunder to avoid falling below .500. Oklahoma City has won three straight games, and eight out of its last nine. On Wednesday, the Thunder squeaked past the Los Angeles Clippers in overtime, 117-111.

If the Celtics are unable to beat the Thunder, they'll have a good chance of getting back into the win column against the 4-7 Magic. After a 2-0 start, Orlando has lost seven of nine games, with both victories coming over the Pistons. Former Celtic Glen Davis has been the Magic's best performer so far in 2012, averaging 14.8 points and 9.0 rebounds per game.
