Anton Khudobin and Zdeno Chara of the Boston Bruins are competing in the KHL during the NHL lockout, and both their teams are off to slow starts. Khudobin represents Atlant Mytishchi, while Chara plays for HC Lev Praha.
Atlant Mytishchi sits in 12th place in the West conference after 22 games. They are just two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot. Atlant has five wins, three shootout wins, and 10 losses. The team has lost all three overtime results.
HC Lev Praha is tied with Atlant in the West standings, but has played two less games and is officially in 10th.
The division winners automatically earn the top two seeds in each conference the KHL playoffs. Just like in the NHL, the best eight teams from each conference advance to the playoffs. The KHL season is still in the early stages, as most teams have played around 20 of the 52-game season.
The KHL is a Russian-based professional hockey league considered to be the top competition in Europe, and has the most talent anywhere in the world outside of the NHL.
Full standings can be found at the KHL's official site.
