Red Sox Vs. Braves: Rain Delay Expected To End By 8:20

The Red Sox and Braves, currently stuck in a rain delay, are expected to start their three-game series at 8:20.

With heavy rains in the area mixed with lightning, the rain delay was announced about 20 minutes before the scheduled start time of 7:10. Now, however, the weather is breaking and officials have determined that play will start at 8:20 p.m. EST. Even though local weather reports expect precipitation to continue throughout the night, the grounds crew has already begun the process of removing the tarp and touching up the water-logged field.

Jon Lester will take the mound for the Red Sox with Jair Jurrjens in opposition for the Braves.

We'll keep you up-to-date if there is any further change to the scheduled start time.
