The Boston Red Sox (20-21) will begin their series with the first-place Baltimore Orioles (27-15) on Monday at Camden Yards. Boston is 8-2 in their last 10 games. The Orioles enter the series coming off having a five-game win streak snapped.
Boston will send Clay Buchholz (4-2, 7.77 ERA) out to the mound for Game 1 of the three-game series. The Orioles will counter with Tommy Hunter (2-2, 4.78 ERA). Buchholz will be looking for a better outing than the 3 2/3 innings he lasted against the O's in the May 6 meeting. Hunter lasted 4 1/3 innings in that epic 17-inning marathon on May 6 but didn't receive a decision.
During the Red Sox last ten games they have outscored their opponents, 56-25. Boston is 11-10 on the road this season and 0-3 against Baltimore in 2012.
